Las Vegas Friend Update

My friend who I posted about a few posts back (many days ago) ended up winning the Las Vegas International Film festival award for Best Short Film or something like that.  Anyway, it’s super cool he won and I hope he goes far with this thing, or it takes him far.

Star Trek TNG Family Guy

On March 29th Family Guy had an episode that reunited the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.  And I missed it dammit!  The worst part is how funny the blurb I saw on Hulu was.  Come on Hulu, get that episode up so I can see it.  I’m dying here.

Oh well, back to South Park Studios to watch Major Boobage again.

Filmmaking & Other Goals

A friend of mine who lives in Las Vegas made a short film that’s been accepted into a number of film festivals.  He has worked hard for these acclodes and I’m happy for him.  He gets to baske in the warm glow of all that hard work.

Of course that got me to thinking about what I’m trying to get done in life.  I have numerous things I’m wanting to do including film making but have yet to achieve any of them.

Damn lazy me.

There is really no excuse for why I haven’t gotten little goals of mine done other than being lazy.  Yeah, not knowing where to start sometimes can be a good excuse but it doesn’t hold water that long.

Anyway, I’m not here to beat myself up and look back at what could have been.  I’m off now to get my own goals checked off.  My friend in Las Vegas has inspired me.

Messenger Services & Stuff

Well, after reading my “drunken” posts I see why Google has that “drunk feature on Gmail. Also I can see why I don’t go out and drink that often. Anyway, I ramble.

People who know me know that I’m not the kind of person to have a huge selection of friends. As a matter of fact I prefer having a small handful of close friends over a large following. That’s the way I am.

So, knowing that, why do I always get hooked on instant messenging? I find a new one and download it. Or, I redownload an old one, have it on my computer for awhile and then get rid of it. The most recent was AOL (which I absolutely hate) messenger. To be fair I did download it because somebody asked if I had it and I said I would download it so we could chat. We never did end up chatting.

Tonight, rather last night, I went to the ICQ site as I used ICQ (briefly) for a very short time. I was half tempted to download it and install it when common sense took hold of me. “Why,” I asked myself and, of course, I could not give my self a good reason. I’m glad that I came to that conclusion.

Some of the messenger clients that I’ve downloaded in the past have been MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, AOL, MySpace Messenger (useless), Google Talk (not useless as it lets me know when I have email) and a plethora of open source messengers. God forbid that they invent another as I’ll probably download it, install it, look at it and then uninstall it while being angry at myself for showing a lack of self control for downloading it in the first place.

Speaking of wastes of time (actually we weren’t but it’s a good transition into my next topic) have I told anybody how much I hate phones? Actually I don’t hate them as they aren’t alive and do provide a valuable service (at times). I do dislike talking on them. I used to be a phone person in high school but I think all people were.

I don’t know….

I think it’s might be because the battery is almost dead and I’m too lazy to go and buy one.  Nah, I just don’t like talking on them and it’s no fault to the people who call me whom I actually know.  Sales calls and computer controlled callers can go to hell.  I also hate the answering machings.  I have a bunch of messages I’ve still have yet to listen to.  The problem with that is that it’s just too hard to access the voice mailbox.  Waaaaay to many buttons to push.  I prefer the old answering machines where you could push a button to listen to messages, push a button to fast forward and push a button to delete.  That was easy.  However, it seems they don’t/can’t do that on cell phones.

And finally, there is this little gem.  It a collabrative effort between GM Motors and Segway.  I so want one as it reeks of coolness/nerdiness and more.

It’s Late

Well, it’s almost 2am local time here and I’m still up surfing the net and twittering.  I swear social networking sites are a total time sink worse than any MMORPG.  I still need to fold laundry and make my bed but the Internet has me glued to ramdom crap.  Each link leading to another distraction.  Grrrr.

I think it’s time for an intervention.

Anyway, felt like blogging about something but I didn’t know what.  Hah!  That’s what you get when you think you need to blog every few hours.

I’m Sure Lazy Today!

I think it’s important to have an exclamation mark in the title to show how lazy I really am today.

Script Frenzy started yesterday and I’ve yet to do any work on it. I guess getting writer’s block and solving it by drinking beer and singing karaoke doesn’t help. Who’d thunk?

Also, there is a reason why I don’t go out that often and don’t sing that often. It does nasty things to my voice that makes me sound like I smoke 10 packs a day. Yeah, not good for someone who doesn’t smoke. Blech.

The Day After

It’s the day after Karaoke night.  Making my rounds to make sure I didn’t write anything embarrassing on all the social networks I belong too.  Still wish I had a girlfriend.

Oh Boy

I went out and did karaoke, drank tons of beer, and now here I am. I will not post lest the beer talk through me.

Alls I have to say at this juncture is I wish I had a girlfriend. Sounds bad I know but damn!
